β Why CFL Trappers?
We live here, too. CFL Trappers was built by Central Florida locals who understand the unique wildlife challenges this region presents β from gators in retention ponds to armadillos under slabs.
We hold all required Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission (FWC) permits and carry full liability insurance, so you’re 100% protected on every job β no exceptions.
We use live trapping and relocation wherever legally permitted, and always follow state and federal guidelines for protected species. Animals are treated with care throughout the process.
Wildlife emergencies don’t follow business hours. Our team is on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week β including weekends and holidays β with same-day response in most cases.
Removing the animal is only half the job. We identify and permanently seal every entry point so wildlife cannot return. All exclusion work includes a written warranty.
“Had a massive rattlesnake in my garage at 10pm on a Sunday. CFL Trappers was at my door within the hour. Professional, calm, and got the job done safely. Worth every penny.”

Click an animal below to learn its identification signs β droppings, tracks, and sounds. Then read the detailed guide if you suspect activity on your property.
Do you hear scurrying early in the morning above your ceilings? It might be squirrels. In the fall, squirrels look for secure spaces to give birth and sheltered areas for the winter. Squirrels can give birth twice a year, with one of those times being in late winter, around February and March. Watch for chipping, squeaking, barking, grunting, and gnawing sounds.
Opossums are North America's only marsupial β they carry their young in pouches. Generally beneficial (they eat ticks, slugs, and even venomous snakes), but you don't want them denning under your shed, in your crawlspace, or in your garage. Females in shelter almost always have joeys.

Raccoons are the most damaging wildlife species in Central Florida attics. A mother raccoon will tear through soffit returns, roof vents, or fascia gaps to nest, then shred insulation, contaminate the attic with droppings and urine, and chew wiring. Listen for heavy thumping, kit cries, and chittering.
House mice slip through gaps the size of a dime and breed every three weeks β a pair becomes a serious infestation in a single season. They contaminate food, gnaw food packaging, and nest in stored boxes, holiday decorations, and lawn equipment. Watch for tiny droppings and light scratching at night.
Roof rats are the dominant rat species in Florida β they climb power lines, palms, and oak canopies into your attic where they shred insulation, gnaw wiring (a leading cause of attic fires), and contaminate the space. Listen for night-time scratching, gnawing, and scurrying overhead.
Bats are protected in Florida and exclusion is illegal during maternity season (April 16 β August 14). Bats leave acidic guano that destroys insulation and drywall. Watch for bats flying out at dusk, guano pellets below entry points, and high-pitched chirping in walls or attic.
Florida has 44 native snake species, six of them venomous. Most snakes you see in your yard are harmless and beneficial. Don't try to ID a snake yourself β text us a photo from a safe distance. Snakes follow food: rodents, frogs, lizards, insects.
Nine-banded armadillos are an invasive species in Florida. They dig β constantly β for grubs, worms, and insects, leaving cone-shaped holes in lawns and burrows under foundations, AC pads, and porches. Repellents don't work on armadillos; funnel-fence trapping is the only reliable method.
Pigeons, starlings, and house sparrows are non-native pest birds β they nest in dryer vents and gable vents, leave corrosive droppings on signage and AC units, and create slip hazards. Most native birds are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, so species ID matters before treatment.
Green iguanas are an invasive species that have spread north from South Florida. They burrow under seawalls and foundations, defecate in pools (salmonella risk), and devour ornamental landscaping like hibiscus and bougainvillea. FWC encourages removal and prohibits relocation.
We’ve earned the trust of thousands of families and businesses across Central Florida. Here’s what they have to say.
Woke up to strange noises in my attic on a Saturday morning. Called CFL Trappers and they arrived within 2 hours. Turned out to be a family of raccoons. They removed them humanely, sealed 4 entry points, and the attic was spotless when they left.

Found a copperhead in my backyard near my kids’ play area. The tech was calm and professional β the snake was gone in minutes. He also inspected the whole yard and told me how to reduce the likelihood of more snakes. Outstanding service.

We had a massive armadillo problem tearing up our landscaping for months. Two other companies couldn’t catch them. CFL Trappers set up a proper trapping system, caught 3 armadillos in the first week, and we haven’t had a problem since.

There was an alligator in our community retention pond that was coming close to residents. CFL Trappers coordinated with FWC, handled all the permits, removed the gator quickly, and kept us updated the whole time. Extremely professional.
Bats in our attic β I panicked. Didn’t realize how serious the guano issue could be. CFL Trappers walked me through everything, performed the exclusion properly, and handled the cleanup. They clearly know Florida wildlife law inside out.
Hired them for a full rodent exclusion after I found rats in my kitchen walls. They found 11 entry points I never would have found myself. Sealed everything with steel mesh, installed monitoring stations. Zero rats since. Worth every cent.
